Elderly citizens and AI usage

Participants gained hands-on experience with ChatGPT on smartphones, tablets and PCs. Through reflections on technological developments, an introduction to AI, and collaborative group activities, they explored how they could use AI in their everyday lives. The workshop also addressed AI models' limitations and responsible use. Workshop feedback highlighted increased knowledge, inspiration, and confidence in experimenting with AI, along with a more critical understanding of its limitations and risks. The experience illustrates how practical competence-building can support safe AI use, critical reflection and active participation in a society increasingly shaped by AI. This is a central objective of AI LEARN’s Cluster 4, Capacity Building for Empowerment.
