The course Compliance and Societal Change was one of five courses offered at this year's NORA Summer School: https://lnkd.in/efDNS7bZ
The course explored how AI is integrated into institutional and organizational structures, how it challenges notions of compliance, control, and human understanding and learning, including how these processes contribute to broader societal transformations. It also invites doctoral candidates to explore ethical, regulatory, and sovereignty-related aspects.
Using a cross-disciplinary approach, the course drew on a diversity of theoretical perspectives from sociology, science and technology studies (STS), institutional theory, innovation theory, ethical theory, and pedagogical theory and research. Pedagogical theory is used as a framework for understanding learning processes, adaptation, and sensemaking in human-AI interaction and organizational change.
The objective of the course is equipping PhD candidates with analytical tools to understand the implications on human, organizational, and normative dimensions of AI.
